Jewelry Care

Please refer to this page for all aftercare notes and information regarding your pieces.

Jewelry Style & Information:

Nickel/Lead Free Jewelry: all jewelry that is nickel/lead free will say so in the item description. Sterling Silver, Gold Plated, and Gold Filled jewelry is nickel/lead free as well.

White Bronze Jewelry: white bronze jewelry is a metal alloy meaning it contains varying amounts of copper, zinc, and tin. White Bronze is still lead and nickel free.

Stainless Steel Jewelry: stainless steel is strong, durable and rust resistant. It is typically made from chromium, nickel, and titanium.

Gold Plated Jewelry: Item descriptions will specify whether the piece is 14k, 18k or 24k gold plated. Gold plated jewelry is a layered metal. It is typically layered over brass or copper.

Gold Filled Jewelry: Item descriptions will specify when a piece is gold filled. Gold Filled is a solid layer of gold bonded to a base of another metal or sterling silver.

Sterling Silver Jewelry: Item descriptions will specify when a piece is sterling silver. Sterling Silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by weight of silver.

Aftercare:

To best protect your jewelry, please remove rings when washing your hands and all pieces when applying beauty products, applying lotion and cleaning the house.

Nickel/lead free, white bronze, and gold plated jewelry are not 100% tarnish free, so taking extra care of removing them when you come in contact with water, sweat, perfumes, and lotions will prolong the life.

Jewlery should not be worn while swimming as chlorine and salt water can damage it.

When you aren't wearing your jewelry they are best stored in an anti-tarnish bag.

Cleaning:

All Nickel Free, White Bronze, and Gold Plated pieces should only be cleaned with a cloth damp from sudsy dish soap and water. Do not submerge the piece into water, use cloth as cleaning tool. Use a cloth damp from just water to "rinse" off any suds, pat dry and place upside down so no water seeps into the settings.

For Stainless Steel jewelry, use a drop of dish soap on a damp rag to clean any buildup or residue, then rinse with warm water. Also using one tbsp of white vinegar with a damp rag will help remove any stains on pieces.

For Gold Filled jewelry, it should only need to be cleaned occasionally. Mild soapy water and a very soft toothbrush will work for removing any grease/dirt residue or fingerprints from your jewelry. A soft cloth can be used to polish your piece after cleaning.

To clean Sterling Silver jewelry, alternatively to cleaning kits you can buy, a good at home method is mixing two parts baking soda to one part water creating a paste. Gently rub the mixture onto the jewelry, rinse, then dry with a soft cloth.
